Students cautioned against persons parading as WAEC officials to change their results

Head of Maths, Science and Technical department, John Appiah has sent a strong warning to students to be careful of people parading as officials of WAEC who can change their results.

According to Mr. Appiah, WAEC has a strong database that cannot be altered.

He emphasized that any student who falls prey to any of these schemes will be fished out at the tertiary levels.

The Deputy Director of Public Affairs, Mrs. Agnes Teye Cudjoe said all is set for this year’s examinations.

She said about 446,351 students will sit this year’s WASSCE which starts in September. Meanwhile, practicals start in August. Mrs. Teye Cudjoe urged students to study hard and not rely on what many refer to as ‘Appor’.

She stressed that WAEC follows strict guidelines in the printing of examination papers and it is therefore difficult for papers to leak.

She urged the public to support WAEC to continue to uphold the integrity of the examinations and the WAEC certificates.

The two were speaking on GBC’s Current Affairs Program of Ghana Today.
