The Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya West, has presented the first batch of scholarships to 30 tertiary students as part of her human capital development initiative.
Out of the 30 beneficiaries selected in the various towns across the constituency, 11 are females and 19 are males, and, with this presentation, the MP has honored her campaign promise of providing scholarships to students in her constituency.
These were contained in a press statement issued and signed by the NDC Constituency Communication Officer, Kweku Ampong.
Speaking at a short ceremony to present the scholarships at the District Education Office in Awutu Beraku on 24th June, 2021, the MP Gizella Tetteh-Agbotui said: “I place value on education and human capital development, it is for this reason that l make commitments towards supporting education in Awutu Senya West.
I pledge to continue prioritizing education and make support systems available so you can make the best out of your studies”.
The District Director of Education, Isaac Godwin Acquaah-Arhin praised madam Gizella for her kind gesture and pointed out that it is the first time he has been invited to such a program in the district.
He again encouraged the beneficiaries to take advantage of the support and study hard.
The beneficiaries expressed their appreciation to the Member of Parliament for the educational support given them and pledged to make The District proud.
Dignitaries present were Nai Kwesi Arhin, Gyasihene of Awutu Traditional Council, Daniel Ako, Constituency Chairman, District Assembly representatives, members of Christian and Islamic communities and some executives of the NDC.
