A 15-member steering committee for a tourism initiative “Beyond The Return” has been inaugurated with a charge to design and implement effective strategies to boost trade and investment cooperation, skills and technology transfer between Ghana and the African Diaspora.
The Committee, Chaired by the Minister of Tourism and Creative Arts, Dr Ibrahim Awal Mohammed, will also design and implement effective strategies to encourage people in the Diaspora to visit Ghana and remove constraints to tourism in the country.
President Akufo-Addo inaugurated the Committee at a brief ceremony at the Jubilee House.
“Beyond The Return” is a follow-up to the 2019 “Year of Return” initiative. It will help intensify our engagement with Africans in the diaspora and all persons of African descent more positively in areas such as trade and investment co-operation, and skills and knowledge development.
